Lord Shiva is one of the Trinity personalities responsible for the annihilation of the material cosmos. He is revered as the patron God of Yoga, Meditation, and the Arts because he is ageless, boundless, and transcendent. He is frequently shown with matted hair and a crescent Moon on his head. His right hand holds a strand of Rudraksha rosary beads.
He is shown with a snake around his neck and a Trident in his hand, his body smeared in sacred ash (Vibhuti) and sat on tiger hide. The third eye on his brow represents his capacity to change the planet by eliminating current life and creating new forms of existence.
